Khmer’s Festival

The most prominent religious activities of the Khmer people are festivals, of which the most notable are Chol Chnam Thmay (mid-April), Ok-om-bok (October 15th of the lunar calendar) and Sen Dolta (from August 29th to September 1st of the lunar calendar) every year. With their own unique characteristics, religious activities and festivals, the Khmer people in Hau Giang have contributed to enriching the cultural life of the province.

Khmer people in Hau Giang in particular and Khmer people in South Vietnam in general have cultural thickness preserved and developed. Concurrently, there is the original mixed culture of many different nations. To stand out from religious actions, Khmer compatriot’s creed is festival. Every year, among them most remarkably is Chol-Chnam-Thmay festival (in the middle of April), Ok-om Bok festival (on October 15th in Lunar calendar) and Sen-Dolta festival (from August 29th to September 1st in Lunar calendar). With peculiarities, severalty, original in cultural actions, Khmer compatriot contributed importance to enrich the province's culture life.
